Efforts to Secure a Stable Investment Base through Active IR
[Asia Economy Reporter Dongwoo Lee] LG Electronics announced on the 21st that it won the Excellence Award at the '2020 Korea IR Awards' hosted by the Korea IR Council. Following last year's 'Outstanding Corporate Group Award,' the company has been named on the list of award-winning companies for two consecutive years.
LG Electronics explained that it was recognized for its efforts to enhance shareholder value and secure a stable investment base through active investor relations (IR) activities.
The company strengthens communication by listening to investors' opinions and reflecting them sufficiently in management decisions, while regularly explaining company performance and mid- to long-term strategies at domestic and international investor briefings and quarterly earnings presentations.
Since the second quarter, the company has integrated the conference calls for earnings presentations, which were previously conducted separately in Korean and English, into a single session to deliver consistent messages to both domestic and international investors.
LG Electronics has been disclosing preliminary earnings since the first quarter of 2016 to deliver management performance to shareholders and investors more quickly and effectively. In addition to preliminary earnings, it timely discloses various reliable information to assist shareholders and investors in making value judgments.
Furthermore, the company is strengthening its IR capabilities related to ESG (Environmental, Social, and Governance) and discloses ESG-related information, one of the important indicators for corporate investment, to shareholders and investors through its website.
