Vice Chairman Lee Jae-yong Meets Vietnamese Prime Minister to Discuss Cooperation Plans
[Asia Economy Reporter Ki-min Lee] On the 20th, Samsung Electronics Vice Chairman Lee Jae-yong met with Vietnamese Prime Minister Nguyen Xuan Phuc at the Prime Minister's residence in Hanoi, Vietnam, to discuss mutual cooperation measures.
According to local Vietnamese media, Vice Chairman Lee met with Prime Minister Phuc to exchange views on ▲Samsung's business status in Vietnam ▲measures to address the prolonged COVID-19 pandemic ▲cooperation plans, among other topics.
Attending the discussion were Samsung Electronics Wireless Business Division President No Tae-moon, Samsung Display President Lee Dong-hoon, and Samsung Electronics Vietnam Complex Plant Head Vice President Choi Joo-ho.
Vice Chairman Lee also congratulated Prime Minister Phuc on Vietnam's role as the chair country of ASEAN, which has a population of 700 million, and its election as a non-permanent member of the UN Security Council this year.
Vice Chairman Lee previously met separately with Prime Minister Phuc in Seoul when Phuc visited Korea in November last year to attend the Korea-ASEAN Summit held in Busan. Earlier, in October 2018, Vice Chairman Lee traveled to Vietnam for a business trip and held a meeting with Prime Minister Phuc to review local business operations.
