[2020 National Audit] Lee Jae-myung: "Four Major Rivers Project and Resource Diplomacy Are Complete Wastes"
[Asia Economy (Suwon) = Reporter Lee Young-gyu] Lee Jae-myung, Governor of Gyeonggi Province, evaluated the Four Major Rivers Project and resource diplomacy during the Lee Myung-bak administration as a complete waste.
On the 20th, during the National Assembly Land, Infrastructure and Transport Committee's audit of Gyeonggi Province, Lee responded to People Power Party lawmaker Song Eon-seok's criticism that "10.9 million won was spent on an advertisement related to basic income in Time magazine, which is a waste of taxpayers' money," by saying, "It was carried out based on policy judgment," and added, "I will answer the question by saying that the Four Major Rivers Project, which cost 22 trillion won, and resource diplomacy were complete wastes."
Lee also added, "The advertisement about basic income in Time magazine was made because the Basic Income Expo, led by Gyeonggi Province and held annually, is an international event, so overseas advertising was conducted."
