Choo Mi-ae: "Prosecutor General's Change of Stance... Following Orders Is a Natural Measure" (2nd Report)
[Asia Economy Reporter Seongpil Cho] On the 20th, Justice Minister Choo Mi-ae said, "It is a natural and fortunate step that Prosecutor General Yoon Seok-yeol has shifted his stance and complied with the directives of the Ministry of Justice."
Minister Choo stated this through her Facebook on the same day, saying, "Now, the Seoul Central District Prosecutors' Office and the Seoul Southern District Prosecutors' Office must expand and reorganize their related investigation teams to strengthen them." She also said, "The investigation teams should operate independently from higher authorities such as the Ministry of Justice and the Supreme Prosecutors' Office, and with an attitude equivalent to that of a special prosecutor, conduct swift and thorough investigations solely based on law, conscience, and principles to meet the expectations of the public."
