Baemin Supports Small Business Market Expansion... Launches 'Jeon-guk Byeolmi' Service
45 Types of Excellent Local Foods Nationwide Including Jeju Ppulsola, Hadong Jaechupguk, and Geoje Juksun Eomuk Delivered Directly from Production Areas
[Asia Economy Reporter Kim Cheol-hyun] To help local small business owners struggling due to the novel coronavirus infection (COVID-19), Baedal Minjok has decided to lend its support. Woowa Brothers, the operator of Baedal Minjok (hereafter Baemin), announced on the 20th that the 'Jeon-guk Byeolmi' service, which directly connects producers and consumers to support the market expansion of small business owners, is now available nationwide. Previously, the service was only available in certain areas such as Songpa-gu in Seoul, Gyeongsangnam-do, and Jeju Island.
Now, customers can tap the Jeon-guk Byeolmi icon on the Baemin app to receive fresh food from various regions across the country delivered directly from the production sites, allowing them to enjoy it wherever they want. Prior to the launch of the Jeon-guk Byeolmi service, Baemin discovered local small business owners who represent their regions and possess symbolic significance, growth potential, and social value, with the help of local governments and small business associations.
Baemin has supported these businesses by providing the sales platform 'Jeon-guk Byeolmi' along with brand storytelling marketing, package design, promotional video and image production, thereby driving sales activation. Currently, 11 small business vendors from Gyeongsangnam-do and Jeju Island are participating in Jeon-guk Byeolmi, selling 45 products. The selection includes nationwide specialty foods ranging from meats and seafood such as Jeju bull conch, Hadong jached soup from Gyeongnam, Geoje bamboo shoot fish cake, to grains, fruits, dairy products, and processed foods.
Baemin plans to continuously expand the number of small business owners joining Jeon-guk Byeolmi through cooperation with local governments and small business-related associations. Osung Hoon, CEO of Dangsineui Gwasuwon, which sells Jeju tangerines and Hwanggeumhyang on Jeon-guk Byeolmi, said, "Since joining, the number of orders has gradually increased, and we will strive to offer high-quality products in the future."
