Gwangju City Hosts 'Job Ontact Employment Fair'
Online and Offline Combined Centered on the Online Job Information System Until November 6
[Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Park Seon-gang] Gwangju Metropolitan City announced on the 19th that it will hold the ‘Gwangju Job (JOB) On (ON) Tact Job Fair’ with innovative technology-leading companies from the 19th of this month to the 6th of next month as part of the regional industry-customized job project.
This job fair will be conducted both online and offline centered on the online job information system (Gwangju Job Net) to revitalize the local employment market, which has been depressed due to COVID-19, and to promote employment and create high-quality local jobs.
Job seekers who wish to apply can participate after checking company information by accessing the Gwangju Job Net homepage.
Participating companies in the job fair include ‘Urilo,’ Gwangju’s first optical communication company and a youth-friendly small giant company, as well as about 30 promising innovative technology-leading companies such as ‘Mega Therapeutics,’ ‘Purify Techno,’ and ‘SD Tech.’
Participating companies will be provided with free licenses to use AI competency interviews to hire customized talents based on job suitability, and job seekers will receive special benefits such as AI mock interviews with feedback, one-on-one document and interview consulting, access to employment content, rental of suits for video interviews, and commemorative gifts for participants, enabling both companies and job seekers to be satisfied with job matching.
In particular, this fair significantly reduces face-to-face events while complying with social distancing in the with-COVID-19 era, and introduces an AI non-face-to-face competency interview system (video interview) centered online, bringing a fresh breeze to the employment market by shifting from ‘spec-based’ to ‘people-centered’ hiring.
As a side event, a talk show called ‘Stepping Stone Talk,’ where job seekers, business people, and related institution officials share their honest thoughts step by step, will be held without an audience and will be posted on the YouTube channel ‘Tori’s Job Thoughts’ and the job information system (Gwangju Job Net).
To prepare for the fair, Gwangju City finalized the event process by discussing the direction, operation methods, roles by field, and promotion plans of the fair through five working-level meetings since August with the local employment office, Korea Optical Industry Promotion Association, Regional Employment Policy Research Institute, Research and Development Special Zone Promotion Foundation, Korea Photonics Technology Institute, and Gwangju Technopark.
Even after the fair period ends, the city plans to continuously maintain and strengthen partnerships between institutions and regularize video interviews through the already established online counseling comprehensive situation room and the job information system (Gwangju Job Net).
