The Sustainability CEO Award is given to CEOs who have contributed to creating social value as well as financial performance based on outstanding leadership.
CEO Choi has worked to realize social value in various areas such as forests and the environment, senior employment, women’s leadership, and support for marginalized groups, based on the representative environmental campaign ‘Our Mountains and Rivers Green and Greener.’ Through the declaration of Environmental Management 3.0, which includes eco-friendly efforts such as the application of sustainable materials, he laid the foundation for active climate change response. In addition, an internal Social Responsibility Committee was established to hold regular discussions for growth together with society, and a stakeholder committee was operated as a channel to listen to the expectations of external experts including management, professors, scholars, and civic groups.
Meanwhile, besides receiving the CEO Award on this day, Yuhan-Kimberly ranked first in the Korea Sustainability Index in the household goods category for 10 consecutive years and was inducted into the ‘Hall of Fame.’ It also received the Sustainability Report Award. This year’s Yuhan-Kimberly sustainability report, ‘People Are Hope,’ was published on the occasion of the company’s 50th anniversary and described the identity and vision for development into a 100-year company.
