Woori Financial announced on the 19th that it held the '9th Woori Wedding Day' at the Woori Bank headquarters located in Jung-gu, Seoul the day before.
Since 2013, the Woori Multicultural Scholarship Foundation has supported 'Woori Wedding Day' in the form of a joint wedding ceremony, covering all expenses such as wedding ceremonies, wedding photography, and family trips for multicultural couples who could not hold weddings due to financial difficulties and personal circumstances. This year, to prevent the spread of COVID-19, the wedding was held with eight couples online and two couples offline.
This year, ten multicultural couples from seven countries including Mexico, the United States, Myanmar, Vietnam, Egypt, Indonesia, and China were selected. Among them, eight couples invited their immediate family members during the wedding album shoot and held the wedding ceremony through a pre-recorded video officiated by Sohn Tae-seung, Chairman of Woori Financial and Director of Woori Multicultural Foundation. It was a non-face-to-face (untact) wedding combining online and offline methods.
Director Sohn said in his officiating remarks, "It is an honor to share this meaningful and special moment where two people who grew up in different languages and cultures come together under the name 'Woori.' I hope they will cherish and care for each other and build a more beautiful family."
