SKT Opens Industry-First 'Mobile Phone Loss Specialized Customer Center'
[Asia Economy Reporter Seolgina Cho] SK Telecom will operate the ‘T Lost Care Center,’ which provides specialized customized consultations and solutions for customers who have lost their phones, starting from the 19th in the 5G era.
According to SK Telecom on the 18th, about 400,000 phone loss consultations were received at the customer center last year, and about half of these customers were unable to recover their lost phones.
Customers who lost their phones previously had to handle follow-up tasks such as reporting the loss to the customer center, using the phone recovery service, processing phone loss insurance, applying for a rental phone, and changing devices by themselves, which was inconvenient. In particular, as phone prices continue to rise in the 5G era, the burden on customers who lose their phones has also increased.
To alleviate these customer burdens and inconveniences and to provide an environment where customers can use communication services without discomfort even in urgent situations of phone loss, SK Telecom decided to open the ‘T Lost Care Center.’
The ‘T Lost Care Center’ is a dedicated customer center for lost phone customers where professional consultants provide one-stop services including essential ‘phone recovery guidance,’ ‘rental phone lending,’ and ‘device changes.’
When a customer reports a lost phone to the SK Telecom Customer Center (114), a professional consultant from the ‘T Lost Care Center’ contacts the customer the next day to guide the necessary measures and provide customized services according to the customer’s needs.
For example, if a customer wants the rental phone service, the center handles the rental phone application and delivery methods; if the customer wants to change devices, the center guides the procedures for changing to a used or new phone and handles the necessary tasks.
Customers who want faster consultation can also call the dedicated ‘T Lost Care Center’ number (1599-1140) directly for consultation.
Customer care at the ‘T Lost Care Center’ continues until the customer’s inconvenience is resolved. If a lost customer uses a rental phone and later wants to change to a new phone, the center recommends an appropriate model considering the previously used phone and plan, and assists with activation and delivery processes.
SK Telecom has also prepared exclusive services for ‘Lost Customer Protectors’ to innovate the differentiated experience of lost customers, including ▲solution proposals at each stage of lost phone recovery ▲non-face-to-face rental phone application ▲7-day free trial service for used phones. The 7-day free trial service for used phones will be available starting December.
