Gwangju City Council to Receive Citizen Reports Ahead of Administrative Audit
[Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Park Seon-gang] The Gwangju Metropolitan Council (Chairman Kim Yong-jip) is seeking citizen reports ahead of the 2020 administrative audit scheduled to take place from the 3rd to the 16th of next month.
According to the Gwangju City Council on the 16th, the reporting period is from today until the 30th, and citizens can report illegal or improper administrative actions, cases of budget waste, matters requiring policy improvement, and other issues causing inconvenience to citizens' daily lives.
Reported content will be reflected in the administrative audit or used as materials for legislative activities. However, inappropriate matters such as invasion of privacy, ongoing trials or investigations, personal attacks or concerns about false defamation, and anonymous reports will be excluded.
Reports can be submitted through the City Council's website, and the personal information of reporters will be kept confidential.

Kim Yong-jip, Chairman of the Gwangju City Council, said, “The reason for the existence of the Gwangju City Council, the representative body of 1.5 million citizens, is to monitor and check the executive branch,” and added, “For the development of the Gwangju community and the happiness of citizens, we ask for the interest and participation of all citizens to firmly point out the executive branch’s mistakes and achieve corrections.”
