[Jeju=Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Hwang Jeongpil] The Jeju Maritime Police Station is continuing the search for the captain of vessel A, registered in Tongyeong, Gyeongnam, who went missing on the morning of the 15th, for the second day. Including nighttime searches, on the 16th, Jeju Maritime Police patrol vessels, helicopters, naval ships, and other related agencies' government vessels are conducting daytime searches.
According to the Jeju Maritime Police Station, during the previous night's search, two 500-ton Jeju Maritime Police patrol vessels, one 500-ton patrol vessel from nearby Wando, and six vessels including naval ships conducted combined patrol and nighttime searches but failed to find the missing person.
Currently, five vessels including a 3,000-ton Jeju Maritime Police ship, helicopters, two patrol vessels from nearby Wando, naval ships, and four vessels from related agencies such as Mugunghwa-ho are conducting combined patrols to search for the missing captain in the waters near Jeju.

Meanwhile, the Jeju Maritime Police stated that since vessel A, on which the missing captain was aboard, entered Jeju Port at around 6:33 PM the previous night, they are investigating the circumstances of the captain's disappearance by questioning foreign and Korean crew members.
