Extension of '3rd Special Travel Advisory' for All International Travel Until Next Month 17th
[Asia Economy Reporter Lim Cheol-young] On the 16th, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs announced that it will extend the third issuance of the 'Special Travel Advisory' for all overseas travel by our citizens to all countries and regions until the 17th of next month. There are no changes due to the extension of the special travel advisory for countries and regions currently under travel alert levels 3 and 4.
The Special Travel Advisory is issued according to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs' travel alert system operation guidelines. It corresponds to measures equivalent to travel alert levels 2 to 3 and is valid for up to 90 days from the date of issuance. Generally, it is issued in one-month increments.
This extension of the Special Travel Advisory reflects the situation where △ the World Health Organization (WHO) has declared a global pandemic, the continued worldwide spread of COVID-19, and many countries have imposed entry bans or restrictions on all travelers and suspended flights.
Additionally, it takes into account the urgent need to prevent cases of our citizens contracting the novel coronavirus infection (COVID-19) during overseas travel and to refrain from overseas visits for domestic quarantine purposes.
