Hamsangwook, Multilateral Diplomacy Coordinator, Visits Ethiopia on 19-20th to Discuss COVID-19 Response Cooperation
[Asia Economy Reporter Lim Cheol-young] Ham Sang-wook, Director-General for Multilateral Diplomacy at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, will visit Addis Ababa, Ethiopia from the 19th to the 20th.
According to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs on the 15th, Director-General Ham is scheduled to attend a donation ceremony for supplies related to the "Comprehensive Emergency Support Program for COVID-19 Response," which the Korean government is implementing to assist Ethiopia and the Africa Centers for Disease Control and Prevention in responding to the novel coronavirus disease (COVID-19).
Following this, Director-General Ham will meet with senior officials from the Ethiopian Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the African Union (AU) to discuss key bilateral and multilateral issues, including COVID-19 response cooperation, preparations for the UN Peacekeeping Ministers' Meeting to be hosted by the government in April next year, as well as regional and international affairs.

Meanwhile, accompanying this visit is Professor Oh Myung-don of Seoul National University College of Medicine, who was appointed as the government's Global Health Security Ambassador in July. He will meet with experts from the Ethiopian Ministry of Health and the World Health Organization (WHO) Ethiopia office director to discuss ways to strengthen cooperation in the health sector, including COVID-19 response.
