KBS announced the casting list on the 3rd of last month in the order of Park Hye-su, NCT Jaehyun, Kim Sae-ron, and Bae Hyun-sung.
After the sudden news of Kim Sae-ron's withdrawal, rumors circulated in the broadcasting industry that it was due to the order of 'name listing' with Park Hye-su.
The order of name listing is considered a measure of an actor's influence, so the industry tends to be sensitive about this order.
According to the broadcasting industry, Kim Sae-ron's side raised objections and tried to negotiate with the production company, but it is said that they could not narrow the differences in opinion.
Kim Sae-ron's agency Gold Medalist explained on the day, "Kim Sae-ron decided to withdraw after discussions due to differences in opinion with the Dear.M side."
The Dear.M side plans to proceed with the schedule without disruption despite the noise caused by Kim Sae-ron's withdrawal before the start.
The Dear.M side conducted a script reading on the same day with Park Hye-su, NCT Jaehyun, and others. The lead actors will soon begin full-scale filming.
Park Hye-su plays Ma Ju-a, a spirited and bright sophomore in the Department of Business Administration, and Jaehyun plays Cha Min-ho, a good-natured and bold sophomore in the Department of Computer Engineering.
Meanwhile, Park Hye-su, born in 1994, is six years older than Kim Sae-ron, born in 2000, but Kim Sae-ron, who debuted in 2009 with the film 'Traveler,' is a senior in the entertainment industry.
Park Hye-su began her acting career after appearing on SBS audition program 'K-pop Star 4' in 2014 and then starring in the SBS drama 'Yongpal' the following year. It was also a topic of interest that Park Hye-su was attending Korea University majoring in Korean Language and Literature during her appearance on 'K-pop Star 4.'
