Bribery Allegation Against Muan County Office Executive, Arrest Warrant Denied
[Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Seo Young-seo] The arrest warrant for Section Chief A of Muan County Office, who was under prosecution investigation for accepting bribes from a contractor, has been dismissed.
At 1:20 p.m. on the 13th, the Mokpo Branch of the Gwangju District Court dismissed the prosecution's request for an arrest warrant during the pre-arrest suspect interrogation (warrant substantive examination) for Section Chief A of Muan County Office.
Section Chief A had been under prosecution investigation on charges of accepting bribes worth approximately 73 million won from a contractor related to the Namchangcheon Ecological Stream Restoration Project in Muan.

The Namchangcheon Ecological Stream Restoration Project, valued at 17 billion won, included civil engineering works along with vegetation revetments, purification wetlands, ecological waterways, and bicycle paths. The project began in October 2010 and was completed in December 2016.
