[Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Park Seon-gang] The Gwangju Metropolitan Council announced that Chairman Kim Yong-jip invited out-of-school youth from the region to the council on the 13th for an exchange session.
Under the guidance of the Gwangju Dong-gu Out-of-School Youth Support Center (Director Lee Mi-kyung), students from Dosiseokchamsaram School (Principal Park Joo-sung) toured the council's main plenary hall and standing committee meeting rooms to learn about the structure of local councils. They also held a discussion with Chairman Kim Yong-jip about the importance of local councils as the foundation of local autonomy.
Chairman Kim Yong-jip said, "I expect that the youth, who will lead the future of the Gwangju community, will take a greater interest in local autonomy and the legislative activities of our council members through this visit to the council." He added, "The Gwangju Metropolitan Council will also do its best to ensure that policies truly for youth, not just focused on entrance exams, are implemented so that all youth in the region, whether inside or outside of school, can be happy."
