Honam University Students Conduct Volunteer Activities for COVID-19 Prevention
[Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Yoon Jamin] Students of Honam University have engaged in volunteer activities sharing their talents for COVID-19 prevention.
On the 13th, according to Honam University (President Park Sangcheol), about 180 students from the health science departments participated in COVID-19 prevention activities at the main building entrances on campus as part of talent-sharing volunteer work related to their majors.
The students were organized into groups of two or three to assist with filling out QR code health questionnaires installed at building entrances, checking temperatures using contactless facial recognition thermal cameras, and verifying compliance with basic prevention measures such as hand sanitization. They also conducted guidance and promotional activities regarding social distancing.
Student Na Yunseon (1st year, Department of Nursing) said, “Since my department is in the health field, we are more aware of the risks of COVID-19 and are thoroughly preventing entry of infected individuals. Today is the second day of attending school this semester, and I hope the day comes soon when I can comfortably meet my friends.”
Meanwhile, Honam University has implemented strict COVID-19 prevention measures in preparation for face-to-face classes, including installing access control systems at each building entrance and contactless facial recognition thermal cameras in every building.
Students attending school must complete a health questionnaire on the electronic attendance program before coming to campus each day, verify the QR code at each building entrance, undergo a temperature check in front of the contactless facial recognition thermal camera, and then enter the classroom.
