Hwasun-gun Resumes 'Free Influenza Vaccinations'
[Hwasun=Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters, Reporter Kim Young-gyun] Jeonnam Hwasun-gun (Governor Gu Chung-gon) announced on this day that the 'Influenza Free National Vaccination Program,' which had been suspended since the 22nd of last month due to issues with flu vaccine distribution, will be gradually resumed starting from the 13th.
Vaccinations by target group will begin as follows: ▲ages 13 to 18 from this day ▲seniors aged 70 and above from the 19th ▲seniors aged 62 to 69 from the 26th.
The vaccinations will continue until December 31 and can be administered at any designated medical institution nationwide regardless of the recipient's address.
Separately from the national free vaccination program, the county has secured its own budget to expand the free vaccination recipients.
The additional free vaccination recipients include adults aged 60 to 61 and residents aged 19 to 59 who are ▲basic livelihood security recipients (living and housing) ▲near-poverty disabled persons ▲near-poverty self-support recipients.
Among the recipients, those residing in Hwasun-eup can receive vaccinations at the Hwasun County Citizens' Hall (Namsan Park) from the 15th to the 22nd, and those living in the 12 other townships, including Hancheon-myeon Administrative Welfare Center, can receive vaccinations from the 19th according to the schedule of their respective health centers.
Free vaccination recipients must bring their ID and proof of eligibility (certificate of living/housing benefits, certificate of near-poverty disabled or self-support status) and should confirm the vaccination date at the respective health center before visiting.
The status of local vaccination designated medical institutions can be checked on the Disease Control and Prevention Agency's Vaccination Helper website.
