Halla Mokpo New Port Operation Co., Ltd. operates the Un-gok scholarship in honor of the late Jeong In-young, honorary chairman and founder of the Halla Group, to foster talented individuals.
Since last year, Mokpo City has received a total of 15 million won in scholarships annually for 20 high school students and 18 university students, reducing the financial burden of tuition for low-income students and supporting the dreams of local students.
CEO Yeo Jong-gu said, “I hope to be a small support for young people who challenge their dreams despite difficult family circumstances, and I will continue to strive to develop together with the local community through sharing management.”
Kim Jong-sik, mayor of Mokpo City, said, “We appreciate the scholarship donation and will create a happy Mokpo City so that our local youth can live in a healthy and safe environment.”

At the donation ceremony, the scholarship funds received will be finally selected and delivered to recipients recommended by the Dong Administrative Welfare Center through the Mokpo Welfare Foundation.
