Gyeongnam Office of Education Decides to Provide 'Temporary Childcare Support Fund' for Foreign National Students
Support of 200,000 KRW per Elementary Student and 150,000 KRW per Middle School Student by the End of This Month
[Asia Economy Yeongnam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Hwang Choi Hyun-joo] The Gyeongnam Office of Education has decided to provide special child care support funds and non-face-to-face learning support funds to foreign-national elementary and middle school students in the province to eliminate discriminatory support based on nationality.
The Office of Education will use its own resources to provide temporary child-rearing support funds to a total of 1,078 students, including 830 elementary students and 248 middle school students with foreign nationality in the province, including those attending foreign schools.
The payment method will consider overlaps and omissions among local children, and as of the 8th, a total of over 200 million won will be paid to school banking accounts or, if parents prefer, to other accounts by the end of this month.
