On the 14th, Seoul City announced that it will maintain control over some crowded areas in Yeouido, Ttukseom, and Banpo Hangang Parks. [Asia Economy Reporter Jo In-kyung] From the 12th, restrictions on Yeouido, Ttukseom, and Banpo Hangang Parks in Seoul will be lifted. The ban on gatherings of 10 or more people will also be relaxed to gatherings of 100 or more.
Seo Jeong-hyeop, Acting Mayor of Seoul, held a briefing this morning and announced new quarantine guidelines for the Seoul area effective from midnight today. This is a follow-up measure after the Central Disaster and Safety Countermeasures Headquarters eased the social distancing level from level 2 to level 1 starting today.
Although the control of crowded areas in Hangang Parks will be lifted, the Seoul city government requested that "masks must be worn inside the parks and that drinking, eating, and delivery orders should be refrained from."

The ban on gatherings of 10 or more people across Seoul has ended, but the 'ban on gatherings of 10 or more' remains in place in downtown Seoul as before. Separately, a ban on gatherings of 100 or more people is being enforced throughout Seoul. After a rapid increase in confirmed COVID-19 cases following the Liberation Day downtown rallies, Seoul imposed a complete ban on gatherings of 10 or more people throughout the city from August 21, and maintained this restriction until midnight on the 11th, considering quarantine measures during the Chuseok holiday and the Hangul Day holiday period.
