Nongshim Shin Ramyun Black Selected Again as the World's Best Ramen
[Asia Economy Reporter Lee Seon-ae] Nongshim's Shin Ramyun Black has been selected as the world's best ramen by the global travel specialist site 'The Travel,' following The New York Times in the United States.
According to Nongshim on the 12th, The Travel announced the 'Ranking The Best Instant Ramen of 2020' on the 8th and selected Nongshim's 'Shin Ramyun Black' as one of the top 4 best ramens of the year. The best ramens chosen by The Travel include Shin Ramyun Black, Singapore's 'Prima Taste Laksa Ramen,' Thailand's 'Mama Ramen,' and Japan's 'Sapporo Ichiban Ramen.'
The Travel described Shin Ramyun Black as “This is the top competitor to beat in the diverse world of ramen,” highlighting its distinctive taste and texture (The Best In Flavor, Texture, And Boldness). Specifically, Shin Ramyun Black's noodles are much richer and maintain a consistent flavor until the end, and the broth is praised for its enhanced flavor from mushrooms and vegetables.
Additionally, it was introduced as a bestseller on Amazon, the world's largest e-commerce platform, and noted as a ramen worth trying even for those who are not good with spicy food.
For the best in luxury and mild flavor (The Best In Luxury And Mild Flavor), Singapore’s ‘Prima Taste Laksa Ramen’ was ranked highest. It was introduced as a ramen that consistently ranks high in ramen rankings, with a smooth broth containing coconut milk that is considered luxurious.
The best in balanced flavor and comfort (Best In Balanced Flavor And Comfort) was awarded to Thailand’s ‘Mama Ramen.’ Mama Ramen is a well-known product in the Asian market, boasting a rich and satisfying taste. The reporter recommended not only the most famous chicken flavor but also the addictive curry flavor.
Lastly, Japan’s ‘Sapporo Ichiban Ramen’ was introduced as the best traditional ramen (Best Traditional), especially its tonkotsu product, which is loved by ramen enthusiasts. The broth is rich and smooth, and it can be enjoyed with various toppings such as eggs, seaweed, and shrimp.
Earlier, in June, The New York Times’ product review site Wirecutter named Nongshim’s ‘Shin Ramyun Black’ as the most delicious ramen in the world. Shin Ramyun Black proudly ranked first among the world’s top 11 ramens selected by reporters and experts.
Nongshim attributed the continuous praise for Shin Ramyun Black to “the taste and quality of the spicy brand that resonates worldwide.” Shin Ramyun has already been sold in over 100 countries worldwide, playing a pioneering role in the global K-ramen craze, and Shin Ramyun Black is also evaluated as a dish with value beyond ramen in the United States.
A Nongshim official said, “As a leading figure in the Korean food wave that moves the world beyond Korea, we will focus on promoting Korean flavors worldwide.”
