Kim Jong-un Watches Mass Gymnastics for the Founding Anniversary of the North Korean Workers' Party... Takes Commemorative Photo with Parade Participants
[Asia Economy Reporter Lim Cheol-young] Kim Jong-un, Chairman of the State Affairs Commission of North Korea, watched the mass gymnastics commemorating the 75th anniversary of the founding of the Workers' Party and took commemorative photos with participants of the military parade and congratulatory representatives.
On the 12th, the Korean Central News Agency reported that Chairman Kim watched the grand mass gymnastics and artistic performance "Great Guidance" commemorating the 75th anniversary of the Party's founding at the May Day Stadium in Pyongyang. The mass gymnastics is a symbolic event of North Korea and was expected to be scaled down due to the spread of the novel coronavirus (COVID-19), but North Korea announced that the performances would continue until the end of this month.
The Korean Central News Agency reported that Chairman Kim "sent warm greetings to the beloved people who glorified the 75th anniversary of the Party's founding as a great political festival and a revolutionary occasion to once again demonstrate the absolute power of unity under one mind to the world, with infinite loyalty to the Party."
Chairman Kim Jong-un also took commemorative photos with participants of the military parade held on the 10th at Kim Il-sung Square.
The Korean Central News Agency reported, "Chairman Kim expressed expectations and confidence that the soldiers of our revolutionary armed forces, who are reliable and trustworthy, will endlessly fulfill their mission and duty as the main force of national defense, creators of the people's happiness, and pioneers of a new civilization." Ri Pyong-chol, Vice Chairman of the Party Central Military Commission, Pak Jong-chon, Chief of the General Staff, Kim Su-gil, Director of the General Political Bureau, and Kim Jong-gwan, Minister of the People's Armed Forces, were present for the photo.
Chairman Kim also took commemorative photos with representatives who attended the Party founding anniversary events. Attendees included Choe Ryong-hae, First Vice Chairman of the State Affairs Commission, Ri Pyong-chol, Vice Chairman, Kim Tok-hun, Premier of the Cabinet, Pak Pong-ju, Vice Chairman of the State Affairs Commission, as well as Kim Jae-ryong, Ri Il-hwan, Pak Tae-dok, and Kim Yong-chol.
