Gangbuk-gu Supports Unpaid Leave Employment Retention Subsidies for Businesses Affected by COVID-19
Monthly payment of 500,000 KRW per unpaid leave worker in companies with fewer than 50 employees, up to 1,000,000 KRW for 2 months... Online, e-fax, registered mail, and in-person applications accepted until November 6
[Asia Economy Reporter Park Jong-il] Gangbuk-gu (Mayor Park Gyeom-su) will provide unpaid leave employment retention support funds to workers of local companies experiencing business difficulties due to gathering bans and restrictions caused by the resurgence of COVID-19.
The target is unpaid leave workers belonging to companies with fewer than 50 employees within Gangbuk-gu.
They must be enrolled in employment insurance and have taken unpaid leave for at least 5 days per month since July 1, maintaining employment insurance until the payment date. However, workers in non-profit organizations, sole proprietors, and industries excluded from the government’s 4th supplementary budget 'New Hope Fund' support are excluded from this support.
The district plans to prioritize workers of companies subject to gathering bans, restrictions, and business limitations due to COVID-19. The amount is 500,000 KRW per person per month, and applicants can receive up to a total of 1,000,000 KRW for a maximum of 2 months.
Applications can be made by the employer or the unpaid leave worker themselves, and representatives can also apply if a power of attorney is attached. Prepare the necessary documents such as the employment retention support fund application form and apply by November 6 via email, electronic fax, registered mail, or visit the 2nd floor of the Gangbuk-gu Hope Job Platform (64-20 Samyang-ro 64-gil, Gangbuk-gu).
