Incheon Yeonsu-gu, Recruiting Youth Participants for 'Food Service Startup Community Space Creation Project'
[Asia Economy Reporter Park Hyesook] Yeonsu-gu, Incheon is recruiting young participants for the "Youth Dining Startup Community Space Creation Project," which is being promoted as part of the K-Food Square construction project and selected through a contest organized by the Ministry of Agriculture, Food and Rural Affairs.
This project, set to be fully operational from next year, aims for young people with various ideas in the dining sector to create distinctive dining culture spaces as a community unit and to generate high-quality youth jobs.
For this project, the district is establishing 10 delivery-only shared kitchens and community spaces within the Songdo Dining Business Support Center.
Through the contest, 10 young people aspiring to start a dining business will be selected to receive not only space support but also various support programs such as practical training to strengthen youth dining startups and self-sustainability, and menu development.
Eligible participants are young people aged 19 to 39 residing in Incheon, who have completed cooking and dining-related education, hold cooking-related certifications, or have experience in dining employment or startups. Preference will be given to young people residing in Yeonsu-gu.
The main support includes partial rent, kitchen equipment, customized education and consulting, joint projects, promotion, and hygiene management. The project is aimed not at incubation level but at actual restaurant startup, growth, and strengthening self-sustainability.
Applications will be accepted from the 26th to the 30th of this month. Applicants should submit related documents and a business plan via email (yeonsu@kitchen42.kr).
Selection will be made through a three-stage screening process including document review, in-depth interviews, and taste evaluation. Detailed schedules and information can be found on the Yeonsu-gu website.
The selected young participants will undergo about two weeks of preliminary capacity-building training starting next month, followed by a pilot operation process until the end of December, and will officially start the project from January next year.
