'Shinsegae International Samsung Card' Launches
[Asia Economy Reporter Yujin Cho] Shinsegae International has launched the ‘Shinsegae International Samsung Card’ in collaboration with Samsung Card, offering differentiated customer benefits. This is the first time Shinsegae International has introduced a co-branded credit card.
On the 7th, Shinsegae International announced that it launched this co-branded card to provide special shopping benefits to customers purchasing products from its fashion, beauty, and lifestyle brands (excluding some brands).
Considering the purchasing power of the millennial generation, the card features a low annual fee in the 20,000 KRW range to lower the entry barrier for young customers in their 20s and 30s. Benefits are designed and applied so that customers can enjoy services both online and offline according to their shopping styles and preferences.
The Shinsegae International Samsung Card offers benefits such as a 5% coupon discount and an additional 10% discount on the payment date or a 1% discount on weekdays and 2% on weekends (up to 300,000 KRW discount per month) based on the previous month’s spending when purchasing products at over 60 of its brands’ stores located in Shinsegae Department Store, specialty stores, and the online mall SI Village.
For fashion, benefits apply when purchasing from about 40 overseas luxury brands imported and sold by Shinsegae International, including Armani, Maison Margiela, Alexander Wang, and Paul Smith, as well as domestic brands such as Ten Months, BOB, J.Cut, and Studio Tomboy.
Beauty benefits apply to in-house brands like Yeonjak and Vidi Vici, as well as imported brands such as Santa Maria Novella, Byredo, Diptyque, and Hourglass. Shinsegae International’s lifestyle brand Jaju offers the same level of discounts when purchasing products at SI Village and road shops.
Additionally, simply becoming a member of the Shinsegae International Samsung Card grants immediate Platinum status in the Shinsegae International integrated membership, providing VIP-level benefits.
Shinsegae Department Store co-branded services are also provided. Customers receive up to six 5% electronic discount coupons per month, two free parking tickets per month, and earn 2 Shinsegae Points per 1,000 KRW spent at Shinsegae Department Store.
There are also various benefits for everyday life, including a 20% discount at Starbucks, discounts when using online simple payment systems, discounts on overseas usage, and free access to domestic airport lounges.
