Live Broadcast of the '25th Eunpyeong Residents' Day Commemoration Event'
On the 8th at 2 PM, the '25th Eunpyeong Residents' Day Commemoration Event' will be held live online via the YouTube 'Eunpyeong-gu Office' channel.
[Asia Economy Reporter Jongil Park] Eunpyeong-gu (Mayor Kim Mi-kyung) will hold the ‘25th Eunpyeong Residents' Day Commemoration Event’ on the 8th at 2 PM via a live online broadcast on the YouTube channel ‘Eunpyeong-gu Office’.
Eunpyeong-gu has designated October 1st as Residents' Day every year and has held commemorative events to foster residents' pride and harmony. Last year, to celebrate the 40th anniversary of the district's establishment, about 3,000 guests and residents attended various events including a commemorative tree planting ceremony, torch relay for the National Sports Festival and the Disabled Sports Festival, a commemorative ceremony, and congratulatory performances.
This year, due to the continuation of social distancing level 2 caused by COVID-19, various face-to-face events have been reduced or canceled, so the commemorative event will be held with a minimal number of attendees.
In line with the normalized untact era, the entire event will be broadcast live on the YouTube channel ‘Eunpyeong-gu Office’ so that residents can participate and watch regardless of location.
Also, considering the difficult local economy, performances and other events requiring large budgets have been canceled, and the event will be significantly scaled down to include the reading of the Residents' Charter, the Eunpyeong Award ceremony, screening of congratulatory videos, and commemorative speeches.
Furthermore, Eunpyeong-gu announced that it is reviewing plans to support small business owners and others suffering from the difficult economic situation by reallocating about 1.2 billion won from the budgets of various events canceled or reduced due to COVID-19, including the ‘25th Eunpyeong Residents' Day Commemoration Event’.
