Power Outage at Changwon Apartment Complex... 12 Trapped in Elevator Rescued
[Asia Economy Reporter Lim Chun-han] A power outage occurred in an apartment complex in Changwon, Gyeongnam, causing inconvenience to residents for about 30 minutes.
According to the Changwon Fire Headquarters and Korea Electric Power Corporation (KEPCO) Gyeongnam Headquarters on the 5th, around 6:30 PM that day, approximately 6,500 households in four apartment complexes in Daebang-dong and Namsan-dong, Seongsan-gu, Changwon City, experienced a power outage.
Twelve residents were trapped in seven elevators but were all rescued by the 119 rescue team dispatched after receiving reports. KEPCO deployed a restoration team and completed the recovery by 7:05 PM, 35 minutes after the outage occurred.

KEPCO is investigating the exact cause, reporting that the outage was due to an abnormality in the electrical facilities within the complex caused by a power failure at a nearby substation.
