[Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Lee Hyung-kwon] Gwangyang City announced that it will provide "Pregnant Women Health Management Expenses" to wish for the healthy childbirth of pregnant women who are experiencing many restrictions in daily life, such as hospital visits, due to COVID-19.
This support fund, implemented as part of Jeollanam-do's 2nd Emergency Livelihood Support, provides 200,000 KRW per person to pregnant women residing in Gwangyang City as of the 24th of last month.
Pregnant women registered at the public health center can apply without additional documents by visiting the health center with their ID from the 6th to the 8th of this month. Unregistered pregnant women can apply by visiting the health center or through the city’s website from the 12th to the 16th by attaching the relevant documents.
The required application documents are the disaster relief fund application form, resident registration abstract, pregnancy confirmation or maternal and child health handbook, and a copy of the bankbook in the name of the pregnant woman. If the spouse applies, a family relationship certificate or marriage certificate must be additionally submitted.
The payment is scheduled to be made on the 22nd after qualification verification, limited to the second round, and it will not overlap with other emergency disaster relief funds such as the special child care support fund.
Park Joo-pil, director of the public health center, said, "I hope this support fund will help pregnant women who are facing many restrictions in daily life such as hospital visits," and added, "We will pay the support fund as quickly as possible so that childbirth can be prepared in a stable environment."
