KOSPI and KOSDAQ Continue Uptrend into the Afternoon
[Asia Economy Reporter Eunmo Koo] Both the KOSPI and KOSDAQ markets continue their upward trend into the afternoon session.
The KOSPI, which opened at 2330.55, up 2.66 points (0.11%) from the previous trading day, has maintained a rise of around 1% since 10 a.m. and continues this momentum into the afternoon. As of 1:10 p.m., it stands at 2353.01, up 25.12 points (1.08%) compared to the previous trading day.
Looking at investors by category, institutions and foreign investors are leading the index rise with net purchases of 289.2 billion KRW and 169.6 billion KRW, respectively. On the other hand, individual investors are net sellers with 443.7 billion KRW.
Among the top market capitalization stocks, Kia Motors, LG Household & Health Care, Hyundai Motor, Hyundai Mobis, and SK Telecom are rising, while Celltrion, SK Hynix, and NAVER are declining.
The KOSDAQ index has also slightly expanded its gains. Although it showed mixed trends earlier, since 10 a.m. it has maintained an increase of around 0.5%. As of 1:10 p.m., it is at 853.07, up 4.92 points (0.58%) from the previous trading day.
By investor type, individual and institutional investors are net buyers with 46.2 billion KRW and 24.7 billion KRW, respectively, while foreign investors are net sellers with 55.8 billion KRW.
