[Asia Economy Yeongnam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Park Dong-wook] Sangju City in Gyeongbuk announced on the 5th that it has secured 12 billion KRW in national funds for the rural domestic water supply development project in Euncheok-myeon.
From next year until 2023, a total project cost of 12 billion KRW, including 8.4 billion KRW in national funds, will be invested in Euncheok-myeon to install 36 km of pipelines, one water storage facility, and three pumping stations.
Once the water supply project is completed, residents of 10 villages (ri) in Euncheok-myeon will be able to receive clean tap water reliably. Currently, local residents use groundwater for domestic water through small-scale village water supply facilities, experiencing water shortages during dry seasons.

Mayor Kang Young-seok of Sangju said, "With the expansion of the water supply, residents' health levels and living conditions will greatly improve," adding, "We will continue to promote the local water supply expansion project to provide residents with clear and clean tap water reliably."
