VGXI, a Subsidiary of Jinwon Life Sciences, Wins Best CMO Award at 2020 World Vaccine Congress
[Asia Economy Reporter Jang Hyowon] GeneOne Life Science announced on the 5th that its subsidiary VGXI received the Best CMO Award in the CMO category at the 2020 Vaccine Industry Excellence (ViE) Awards hosted by the World Vaccine Congress.
VGXI, located in Houston, USA, is a CDMO (Contract Development and Manufacturing Organization) specializing in cGMP manufacturing of DNA-based biopharmaceuticals and is a subsidiary of GeneOne Life Science.
The ViE Awards ceremony, held during the World Vaccine Congress, selects companies and research teams that have demonstrated outstanding achievements and contributions in various fields of the vaccine industry over the past year through votes from vaccine researchers and experts worldwide. This year, due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the World Vaccine Congress was held online along with the awards ceremony.
Over the past several months, among candidates in 12 vaccine industry categories, excellent R&D companies and research institutions advanced to the final round, and the ViE Scientific Advisory Board conducted the final evaluation and selected the winners.

A GeneOne Life Science official said, “The facility is scheduled to be completed by the third quarter of next year and to be operational in early 2022. This will significantly enhance VGXI’s manufacturing capacity and flexibility for DNA and RNA product production, leading to increased sales and substantial operating profits.”
