Kuwait Sabah King’s Passing Condolence Delegation Dispatched... Led by Kim Hyun-mi, Minister of Land, Infrastructure and Transport

View original image[Asia Economy Reporter Chunhee Lee] The government will dispatch a condolence delegation led by Kim Hyun-mi, Minister of Land, Infrastructure and Transport, to Kuwait following the passing of Sabah Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah, the Emir of Kuwait.
On the 3rd, the government announced that a six-member condolence delegation, including officials from the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure and Transport and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, led by Minister Kim Hyun-mi, will be sent to Kuwait for three days from the 4th to the 6th in response to the passing of Emir Sabah.
Earlier, the Kuwaiti royal family announced the death of Emir Sabah through the state news agency at 4:48 PM local time on the 29th of last month. The late Emir Sabah, who ascended to the throne in 2006, led Kuwait's political development and economic growth. He was recognized for his humanitarian contributions, leading international support for global crises, including providing humanitarian aid worth 2 billion dollars to Syria and Palestine. In recognition, he received plaques of appreciation from the United Nations (UN) in 2014 and the World Bank (WB) last year.
President Moon Jae-in sent a condolence message to Kuwait on the 1st, and Minister of Foreign Affairs Kang Kyung-wha is scheduled to visit the Kuwaiti Embassy in Korea on the 5th to express condolences.
The delegation also plans to personally deliver a letter of congratulations from President Moon on the accession of Nawaf Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah, the late Emir Sabah’s half-brother, who ascended the throne on the 30th.
