[Asia Economy Reporter Lee Hyun-woo] The Central Disease Control Headquarters announced that as of midnight on the 2nd, during the Chuseok holiday, there were 63 new confirmed cases of COVID-19 in South Korea. Among these, 53 were locally transmitted and 10 were imported cases. The total number of confirmed cases reached 23,952.
Compared to 77 cases the previous day, the number of new confirmed cases decreased by 14, marking a decline for two consecutive days. Daily new confirmed cases maintained double digits for four consecutive days from the 26th to the 29th of last month (61 → 95 → 50 → 38), but since the start of the Chuseok holiday on the 30th, the numbers have fluctuated around 100, with 113 → 77 → 63 cases.
