On the 29th, according to Gwangju Metropolitan City, a man in his 20s residing in Yongbong-dong, Buk-gu, was confirmed positive for COVID-19 and classified as case number 494.
Following a woman in her 30s living in Dongnim-dong, Buk-gu, who was confirmed positive earlier that morning, two cases occurred within a day.
The infection routes for both individuals are currently under investigation.
This is the first occurrence of locally transmitted COVID-19 cases in the Gwangju area in seven days since two cases were confirmed on the 22nd.
