Lotte Tour Development Officially Begins Preparations for Dream Tower Opening
[Asia Economy Reporter Donghyun Choi] Jeju Dream Tower Complex Resort has officially notified over 1,000 newly hired employees of their start dates, marking the beginning of full-scale preparations for its opening.
According to Lotte Tour Development on the 29th, the approximately 1,000 experienced and new employees selected through various processes such as walk-in interviews and video interviews are scheduled to start work on October 19 and 26, respectively.
On October 19, 200 experienced employees at the supervisor level or higher in hotel rooms, food and beverage, and culinary departments will begin working. Then, on October 26, about 800 experienced and new employees will join in large numbers. Among them are 23 graduates from specialized high schools such as Jeju High School and Hallim Technical High School, as well as 23 middle-aged and career-interrupted women from the province. Kim Daegun, who is scheduled to join the food and beverage department, said, "I was anxious because it seemed the start date was being delayed even after receiving the acceptance notice, but I am happy to finally be able to start work," and expressed his aspiration, "I will do my best to grow into a global talent at Dream Tower."
A representative from Lotte Tour Development stated, "Although the hiring schedule was disrupted due to the impact of the novel coronavirus (COVID-19), with the headquarters relocation and hotel rating application making the opening schedule more visible, about 700 more employees will join in November," adding, "We plan to accelerate additional hiring for the full opening of the complex resort."
These newly hired employees will receive orientation on the vision and mission of Jeju Dream Tower Complex Resort after joining, followed by job and system training as well as Hyatt brand education. Managers will also receive leadership training in addition to basic education. Currently, about 360 executives and employees have already been working in Jeju for several months in preparation for the opening of Dream Tower.
