Wando Coast Guard Conducts On-Site Inspections of Multi-Use Vessels Before Chuseok
[Wando=Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Choi Kyung-pil] The Wando Coast Guard announced that it conducted safety inspections and a life jacket wearing campaign on multi-use vessels for four days from the 25th to the 28th ahead of the Chuseok holiday.
According to Wando Coast Guard on the 28th, a total of 18 people including officials from related organizations (Jeonnam Province, Korea Maritime Transportation Safety Authority, Hanil Express) participated on the 25th, distributing masks and wet tissues with promotional stickers at the Wando Passenger Terminal to about 300 passengers heading to Cheongsan and Jeju Island, promoting the wearing of life jackets.
In addition, they visited eight locations including Wando and Ttangkkeut passenger ships and ferries, conducting focused inspections on major vulnerable spots and risk factors directly related to passenger safety on multi-use vessels. They plan to continue corrective actions for neglected management areas and ongoing education and guidance activities for workers.
