Emart Reduces Plastic Use
Installs 'Eco Refill Station' with Ministry of Environment
[Asia Economy Reporter Minyoung Cha] Emart on the 27th introduced the 'Eco Refill Station,' a refill machine for laundry detergent and fabric softener, in collaboration with the Ministry of Environment, Korea Environmental Industry & Technology Institute, and Sugarbubble to reduce plastic usage. Customers who bring Sugarbubble's dedicated containers to the store can purchase laundry detergent and fabric softener at a 35-39% discount compared to the regular price. The dedicated containers can be purchased at refill stores for 500 won. Currently, the detergent refill machines are operating at two locations: Emart Seongsu branch and Traders Anseong branch, with plans to expand to Emart Wangsimni, Eunpyeong, Yeongdeungpo, Jukjeon branches, as well as Traders Wolgye and Traders Hanam branches.
