CEO Urges 'Balanced Management,' 'New Insights,' and an 'Organization with Thinking Power'
[Asia Economy Reporter Ki Ha-young] Lim Young-jin, CEO of Shinhan Card, proactively prepared the 2021 strategy and emphasized a 'balanced management mindset,' 'new insights for the future,' and 'cultivating an organization with the power of thought.'
Shinhan Card announced on the 25th that it held the '2020 Second Half Executive Workshop' at its headquarters in Euljiro, Seoul, with all executives attending, where they discussed the 2021 business strategy and ways to strengthen future competitiveness.
Presiding over the meeting, CEO Lim stated, "For sustainable corporate management, it is important to excel simultaneously at both maintaining the core competitiveness of existing businesses and discovering new future businesses, a 'ambidextrous management' approach. As leaders responsible for the company's present and future, please lead the organization with a sense of balance and harmonious integration between what we do well and what we need to newly challenge."
He also urged the cultivation of insight to penetrate markets and customers in the so-called New Normal era, represented by untact, online, and homeconomy trends, and to foster an open organizational culture where employees themselves develop the power of thought and can find fun and meaning in their work to fully immerse themselves.
CEO Lim said, "The past cannot be changed, but the future can be altered," and requested, "Let all employees work together so that today's discussions and various ideas can become the driving force to prepare for 2021 and strengthen future competitiveness."

The New Normal response strategy 'Digitalize' refers to Shinhan Card's company-wide digitalization project concerning new sales, products, strategies, and work methods that do not return to the pre-COVID-19 era.
