Boseong-gun Takes Initiative to Create Clean Streets... Introduces Eco-Friendly Cleaning Robots
Operation of Multipurpose Cleaning Robot Capable of Reducing Fine Dust
[Boseong=Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Kim Chunsu] On the 25th, Boseong-gun, Jeollanam-do announced that it will introduce eco-friendly cleaning robots to Taebaeksanmaek Literature Street in Beolgyo-eup to create cleaner streets.
The newly introduced robot cleaner is part of the "Multipurpose Surface Cleaning Robot Demonstration Project" led by the Korea Robot Industry Promotion Agency under the Ministry of Trade, Industry and Energy.
The eco-friendly cleaning robot uses electric batteries, producing no noise or exhaust emissions, and its small size allows cleaning operations even in places with heavy foot traffic. Additionally, it is more efficient compared to manual work by sanitation workers and reduces dust generated by broom use, creating a pleasant walking environment.
In particular, while existing large cleaning vehicles could not clean narrow alleys or places difficult for sanitation workers to access, the introduction of small robot cleaners enables cleaning in tight spaces. With remote control operation, it can work in flower beds, drainage ditches, uneven areas, and places where equipment deployment is difficult.
A county official stated, "With the introduction of this robot cleaner, we will continue to carry out eco-friendly and leading cleaning administration to create a pleasant urban environment free of fine dust."
