View original image[Asia Economy Reporter Kim Cheol-hyun] Home&Shopping (CEO Kim Ok-chan) announced on the 25th that it will support 250 million KRW for households with child housing poverty facing eviction. To this end, Home&Shopping signed a 'Guro-gu Emergency Temporary Housing Project Business Agreement' with Green Umbrella Children’s Foundation, Guro District Office, and Seoul Housing & Communities Corporation (hereinafter SH Corporation) on the 24th.
Some autonomous districts in Seoul and local housing welfare centers have been providing temporary housing facilities for households suddenly facing eviction. However, many of these emergency temporary housings are either semi-basement houses or old houses, or are too small for family living, so there is a need for safe emergency temporary housing for households with children.
Through this business agreement, it is expected that the housing policy of the 'Seoul City Ordinance for Supporting the Resolution of Child Housing Poverty,' implemented in July, can be realized. Home&Shopping will sponsor necessary goods and housing upgrade costs for forming safe emergency temporary housing through the Green Umbrella Children’s Foundation, SH Corporation will provide purchased rental housing for operating emergency temporary housing for a fee, and Guro District Office will be responsible for operating the emergency temporary housing.

Kim Ok-chan, CEO of Home&Shopping, said, "As COVID-19 prolongs, many impoverished groups are facing eviction, and I understand that impoverished households with children experience much greater difficulties in eviction situations compared to general impoverished households," adding, "We hope this sponsorship will bring more social attention to child housing poverty, and we will continue to strive to help various vulnerable groups in the future."
