This year's Dongdaemun Residents' Award recipients include a total of 14 people in 7 categories: ▲ Proud Resident Award (Grand Prize: Green Health Sports Association, Gold Prize: Kim Ok-ja) ▲ Parents' Award (An Soon-hwa, Choi Ok-seon) ▲ Filial Piety Award (Lee Tae-hyun, Jeon Dan-ja) ▲ Volunteer Award (Jangan 1-dong Hope Welfare Committee, Kim Do-soon) ▲ Model Youth Award (Yoon Jin-woo, Go Ye-jin) ▲ Disabled Person Award (Park Sook-hee, Park Chil-sung) ▲ Multicultural Family Award (LI HAIXIA, Kim Bo-kyung).
The grand prize in the prestigious Proud Resident Award category was awarded to the Green Health Sports Association. The Green Health Sports Association was recognized for its contribution to making Dongdaemun-gu a better place to live by regularly inspecting and managing exercise equipment and consistently volunteering for local residents around Dapsimni 1st Neighborhood Park.
The Volunteer Award grand prize was given to the Jangan 1-dong Hope Welfare Committee, which has extended warm hands of sharing by supporting 11,184 households with over 150 million won over 8 years. Mr. Lee Tae-hyun, who cared for his elderly mother with devotion for 33 years despite his chronic illness (diabetes), received the grand prize in the Filial Piety Award category.
