LG Electronics and Hyundai Motor Company announced on the 24th that they unveiled the ‘Ioniq Concept Cabin,’ showcasing the interior vision of future vehicles. The two companies explained that they collaborated to efficiently utilize the expanded interior space compared to conventional internal combustion engine vehicles, aiming to provide the convenience enjoyed at home and new values never experienced before.
The Ioniq Concept Cabin is equipped with modular vehicle appliances tailored to customers' lifestyles and needs, including shoe care that keeps wet or dirty shoes in a pleasant condition, a capsule coffee machine for easy coffee making, a garment care system that helps keep clothes wrinkle-free at all times, and a minibar with refrigeration function so that cool drinks can be enjoyed anywhere even in midsummer.
The flexible OLED display installed on the vehicle ceiling allows customers to comfortably enjoy content in various postures. Customers can adjust the degree of curvature of the display with a hand gesture that mimics bending the screen. This display applies an intuitive and simple user interface to help customers use the product easily.
Additionally, screen splitting is possible so that two people can watch different content simultaneously. Speakers installed in the seat headrests create a personal sound zone, allowing each occupant to hear clearly without being disturbed by surrounding noises.
Moreover, when customers exit the vehicle, UV LED lighting and a floor robot operate to keep the interior clean. The UV LED lighting installed on the ceiling sterilizes the interior, and the bar-shaped floor robot installed on the floor vacuums dust and cleans the floor neatly.
Earlier, LG Electronics first unveiled its connected car solution at CES 2020, the international electronics exhibition held in Las Vegas, USA, earlier this year, showcasing an AI experience that connects home and vehicle.
