Orion's 'Market O Nature O! Granola' Surpasses 11 Million Units Sold This Year
[Asia Economy Reporter Lee Seon-ae] Orion announced on the 24th that its convenient meal replacement brand ‘Market O Nature’ products ‘Oh! Granola’ and ‘Oh! Granola Bar’ have surpassed a cumulative sales volume of 11 million units from January to August this year, gaining high popularity thanks to health trends and increased demand for home-cooked meals. This represents an increase of over 70% compared to the same period last year, already exceeding last year’s total annual cumulative sales.
This achievement is analyzed to be due to the recent attention on the ‘stay-at-home economy’ and ‘homebody culture,’ which have expanded the food culture of easily resolving meals, with Oh! Granola’s diverse brand lineup meeting consumer needs. In addition to ‘Oh! Granola Protein,’ launched last May for consumers highly interested in health and body management, the brand continues to expand the granola market with products reflecting targeted lifestyles such as ‘Oh! Granola Strawberry’ and ‘Oh! Granola Cacao,’ released last year to suit the tastes of housewives concerned about their children’s health and younger consumers, as well as the ‘Oh! Granola Bar’ series, which further enhances eating convenience. Furthermore, the concept of ‘processing the original ingredients as they are without mixing cornflakes,’ unlike existing products, has increased trust as a convenient meal replacement brand.
Market O Nature Oh! Granola is a convenient meal replacement product introduced to allow busy modern people to have a simple meal anytime and anywhere without time and place constraints. There are six types of ‘Oh! Granola’ (black bean, fruit, vegetable, cacao, strawberry, protein) made by processing domestic rice, rye, oats, etc., provided by NongHyup as they are, and four types of ‘Oh! Granola Bar’ (black bean, fig berry, pumpkin sweet potato, cacao & probiotic ball (mini)). As part of the ‘Good Packaging Project’ to enhance consumer satisfaction, Orion increased the quantity of Oh! Granola and Oh! Granola Bar by 10% and 16.7%, respectively, in 2019 and 2020 without changing the price, thereby improving cost-effectiveness.
