This contest was part of ABL Life’s ‘Consideration’ campaign launched on social media since June. It was held from July 1 to August 14 targeting university students to spread a culture of social consideration through creative videos by young talents. Under the theme of ‘Creating a Culture of Consideration for a Better World,’ participants were asked to choose one of three categories: ‘Consideration for Myself,’ ‘Consideration for Each Other,’ or ‘Consideration for the Earth’s Environment,’ and submit videos within 3 minutes.
A total of 82 videos were submitted. In addition to ABL Life’s internal judging panel, Kim Jung-tae, adjunct professor of the Department of Multimedia Video at the Korea National University of Arts, participated as a judge to ensure fairness. After a rigorous evaluation, ABL Life selected one grand prize winner, one excellence award winner, and six merit award winners/teams. All selected videos can be viewed on ABL Life’s Facebook and YouTube pages and will be used as considerate content to help create a better world.
The award ceremony held the day before was conducted only for the grand prize winner in accordance with social distancing measures due to the COVID-19 pandemic. Eun Jae-kyung, head of ABL Life’s Product & Marketing Office, attended as the presenter and awarded the certificate and prize money. The grand prize, excellence award, and merit awards were accompanied by prize money of 5 million KRW, 2 million KRW, and 500,000 KRW respectively.
The prestigious grand prize was awarded to Lee Chung-hee from Yonsei University’s Department of Media and Communication. His video, submitted under the theme ‘The Link of Words and Actions, Our Choice,’ was highly praised for its well-structured composition that conveys the message that four men and women, through everyday conversations, reveal that each independent individual is actually interconnected, emphasizing the need for small acts of consideration in ordinary daily life.

Meanwhile, the prize money for this contest was supported by an executive fund established by ABL Life’s CEO Si Yeojieo-chiang and other executives. In response to the economic and market difficulties caused by COVID-19, ABL Life’s management voluntarily returned part of their salaries from last year and created a joint fund worth about 20 million KRW with a spirit of unity and leading by example. This fund will be used for meaningful projects including the ‘A Considerate Life’ video content contest, scholarship support for customers’ children, and awards for outstanding internal collaborators.
