Strengthening the '100,000 Won Range' Lineup Including Nokia 2.4... First 5G Smartphone Also Released
[Asia Economy Reporter Joeslgina] Nokia, once a leader in feature phones, has strengthened its mid-to-low-end lineup by consecutively launching budget smartphones 'Nokia 2.4' and 'Nokia 3.4' priced between 100,000 to 200,000 KRW. Its first 5G device, Nokia 8.3, has also begun pre-orders.
Finnish smartphone manufacturer HMD Global unveiled this lineup during an online new smartphone launch event on the 22nd (local time). Along with the anticipated Nokia 2.4 and Nokia 3.4, detailed specifications, prices, and release dates for wireless earphones and the Nokia 8.3 5G model were announced. Currently, Nokia smartphones are developed and contract-manufactured by HMD Global, which is composed of former Nokia personnel.
IT media outlet The Verge evaluated, "Nokia, revived by HMD Global, is building its brand centered on mid-to-low-end devices," adding, "It has strengthened its lineup under $200."
The budget Nokia 2.4 is priced at $139. It features a 6.5-inch display with a waterdrop notch. It is equipped with a MediaTek Helio P22 processor, 2GB RAM, 32GB storage, and a 4500mAh battery. The device includes a dual-camera system and a fingerprint sensor on the back. Pre-orders start on the 23rd.
The Nokia 3.4, scheduled for release this fall, is priced higher at $179. It comes with a Qualcomm Snapdragon 460, 3GB RAM, 64GB storage, and a 4000mAh battery. A triple camera is mounted on the rear.
At the event, wireless earphones called Power Earbuds were also unveiled. They offer up to 150 hours of playback on a single charge and can withstand up to 30 minutes underwater at a depth of 1 meter. Priced at $99, they are expected to launch alongside the Nokia 3.4 this fall.

The price of HMD Global’s first 5G smartphone, the Nokia 8.3, was also confirmed. Priced at $699, pre-orders begin on the 23rd. The Nokia 8.3 5G, unveiled last March, is equipped with a Qualcomm Snapdragon 765G.
