On the morning of the 22nd, Kim met with Chairman Park, who visited the National Assembly, for about 10 minutes and then spoke to reporters.
Kim said, "I heard from Chairman Park that businesspeople have their own concerns about the Economic 3 Laws," adding, "(I said) we are not trying to create laws that would cause great damage to the Korean economy while handling economic-related laws. During the review process, we will appropriately reflect those concerns, so don't worry too much."
Regarding his support for the government's proposed Fair Economy 3 Laws, Kim said, "When Park Geun-hye was a presidential candidate, she made a pledge for economic democratization, and that pledge was even stronger than the current bills," adding, "What companies are worried about and what can be judged by common sense will inevitably differ, so can't we find a common ground there?"
Addressing ongoing opposition within the party, he pointed out, "Honestly, I don't know whether they are discussing this issue based on understanding and awareness or just reflecting what they hear from outside."
