Euntap Industrial Medal Awarded to 49 Meritorious Persons Including Kang In-gak, CEO of Jugang Robotech
The Korea Association of Machinery Industry Promotion announced on the 21st that it held the '2020 Machinery and Robot Industry Development Merit Awards Ceremony' at the Daejeon Chamber of Commerce and Industry, hosted by the Ministry of Trade, Industry and Energy. The ceremony was attended by Sung Yun-mo, Minister of Trade, Industry and Energy, Son Dong-yeon, Chairman of the Korea Association of Machinery Industry Promotion, and others, and awards were presented to individuals who have made significant contributions to industrial development through the promotion of the machinery and robot industry.
The Machinery and Robot Industry Development Merit Awards have been implemented since 1984 to improve the trade balance by strengthening manufacturing competitiveness through localization of capital goods, encouraging technological development motivation, and enhancing quality levels. This year, the Gold Tower Industrial Medal was awarded to Lee Won-hae, CEO of Daemo Engineering, who led construction heavy equipment attachment technology and played a role in the development of the capital goods industry through globalization and the establishment of smart factories.
The Silver Tower Industrial Medal was awarded to Kang In-gak, CEO of Jugang Robotech, who achieved the development of 100% domestically produced factory automation drive devices through 29 years of investment in production, supply, after-sales service, and maintenance of factory automation-related drive devices. The Industrial Medal was awarded to three individuals: Park Chan-hyuk, Executive Director of Doosan Infracore, who contributed to expanding supply capacity and localization of foreign parts through securing large and ultra-large excavator manufacturing technology; Lee Young-jun, CEO of Nextech, who led product localization through technology and independent equipment development related to blind rivets; and Shin Ki-beom, CEO of Sestec, who led the development of robot application systems and secured competitiveness.

The Presidential Citation was awarded to six individuals including Ji Seok-jun, CEO of Halla IMS, and two companies in the corporate sector including STX Engine. The Prime Minister's Citation was awarded to four individuals including Song Chang-gyu, Principal Researcher at the Korea Institute of Machinery and Materials, and four companies in the corporate sector including Sambo Motors. The Minister of Trade, Industry and Energy Citation was awarded to 18 individuals including Lee Jae-chang, Senior Engineer at Samsung Heavy Industries, and 10 companies respectively.
