Musical 'Gwangju' Showcase to be Released Online on October 2
[Asia Economy Reporter Park Byung-hee] A showcase revealing the music of the musical 'Gwangju' for the first time will be broadcast live on Naver TV at 7 PM on October 2, during the Chuseok holiday.
The showcase will feature the creative team behind the production, including director Go Seon-ung, composer Choi Woo-jung, and music director Lee Seong-jun, along with all the cast members: Min Woo-hyuk as Park Han-soo, Tae, Seo Eun-kwang (BTOB), Min Young-gi and Kim Chan-ho as Yoon Yi-geon, Jang Eun-ah and Jung In-ji as Jung Hwa-in, and Jung Yoo-ji, Lee Bom-sori, and Choi Ji-hye as Moon Soo-kyung.
Broadcast live on Naver TV and VLIVE, the showcase will feature the cast singing the representative numbers (musical insert songs) of 'Gwangju' accompanied by a grand orchestra. Additionally, artistic director Yoo Hee-sung, director Go Seon-ung, composer Choi Woo-jung, and music director Lee Seong-jun will explain the production and its music.
On October 16, the cast of 'Gwangju' will perform in a special concert with the KBS Symphony Orchestra. This 'Special Concert with the KBS Symphony Orchestra' was planned by the KBS Symphony Orchestra and the Gwangju Cultural Foundation to commemorate the 40th anniversary of the May 18 Democratic Uprising. Cast members Min Woo-hyuk, Min Young-gi, Jang Eun-ah, Jung Yoo-ji, and Joo Min-jin will perform five songs, including 'March for the Beloved,' as well as key numbers from the musical 'Gwangju' such as 'Until That Day Comes' and 'The Last Mission.'
The musical 'Gwangju' aims to convey universal values such as democracy, human rights, and peace, which are the spirit of the May 18 Democratic Uprising, when Gwangju citizens stood against the military regime demanding democratization. It was planned to mark the 40th anniversary of the May 18 Democratic Uprising and the '2019 March for the Beloved Popularization and Globalization Project.'

'Gwangju' will open on October 9 at the Hongik University Daehangno Art Center Grand Theater and run until November 8.
