On the same day, Lee stated on his Facebook, "Yesterday, there were 82 new confirmed COVID-19 cases, falling below 100 for the first time in 38 days."
He added, "However, we must not let our guard down," emphasizing, "Especially the Chuseok holiday and National Foundation Day are another critical moment."
He urged, "Please refrain from returning home and traveling to popular tourist destinations. The Gwanghwamun rally on National Foundation Day has been banned."
Earlier, the Central Disease Control Headquarters announced that as of midnight, there were 82 new confirmed COVID-19 cases, bringing the total to 22,975.

The number of new confirmed cases had recorded triple digits for 37 consecutive days from September 14, when cluster infections in the metropolitan area began in earnest, until the day before.
